It’s their 30 Day Challenge, running from April 9th to May 8th. Participants sign a contract to get active at the studio for one hour a day for 30 consecutive days. “It’s been proven that if you stick with something for 30 days, it’s more likely to become a habit” says owner Suzanne Bechard. “This has become a very effective way to kick start a new healthy lifestyle or to improve an existing workout routine.” The proof is in the inches lost from their clients.Have you ever started a new workout program and, even with the best intentions, failed miserably? For the fee of $135, 30 Day Challenge participants are entitled to unlimited fitness classes, weekly full-body measurements and body composition analysis using the studio’s state-of-the-art Tanita body composition analyzer. Some participants are outfitted with body sensors from companies like BodyMedia, allowing them to watch in real-time the calories they burn in each class and for the rest of the day. A portion of each fee will go to Healthy Kidz™, a division of Family SOS.

“It’s not enough to hop on the scale and learn your weight anymore,” says Bechard. “It’s far more effective to watch the changes in your body fat percentage versus muscle percentage, and most telling of all, your metabolic age.”

The 30 Day Challenge is offered at Ready to Rumba Dance & Fitness two times a year, in Spring and Fall. “Spring is a time when people become interested in renewing a relationship with their bodies” says Bechard. “People are itching to get outside after winter and when they feel those rays hit their faces, thoughts inevitably turn to warm sand and fitting into a bathing suit.” It’s the perfect motivation.

Celebrating it’s fourth year in business, Ready to Rumba Dance and Fitness offers fitness classes for every skill level in Disco Fit, Zumba, Total Body Fit, Pilates, GYROKINESIS, Total Body Core, Lengthen n’ Strengthen and Stretch Yourself Slim. This past October, the studio rocked Spryfield with their outdoor production of Thrill The World, replicating Michael Jackson’s Thriller and have recently started the hottest new workout trend in Halifax, Disco Fit. Once a competitive-level dancer, Suzanne Bechard shares her expertise with her students. Ms. Bechard travels the world to bring the newest trends and hottest workouts back to Halifax.

You can purchase class cards of 5, 10, or 20 for any fitness class. That way, you are only paying for the classes you actually attend. All fitness classes are drop-in so you can start any time and mix them up for lots of variety. Great for shift workers! Check out these fun and intelligent ways to get your body and mind in shape.
